Contemporary painting, photography, sculpture, and multi-media installations are harmoniously integrated in a yoga studio environment for inspiration and conscious reflection. We invite you to view our oil paintings on canvas by New Hampshire artist, Susan Q. Brown.  Brown is a Kundalini Yoga instructor and practitioner who combines yoga, meditation, art, environment and place, and has collaborated to create transformational events and installations in New York City and throughout New England. Her work has appeared: in the international phenomenon, Art Takes Times Square June 2012; the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, VT; University Gallery, UMASS Amherst; Fitchburg Art Museum, MA; and the Attleboro Museum, MA. Susan’s recent book “One Heart, Four Seasons: Kundalini Yoga, Experience Present Moment Awareness,” has received the Kundalini Research Institute Seal of Approval.

Using imagery inspired by Kundalini Yoga’s ancient mudras (hand positions) known to enhance the power of intention and sound, Brown invites her viewers to explore this ancient yogic science. By making these tools more accessible, she asks us to consider that collectively we can have an impact on our future through the power of our projection. “Intention and Sound” consist of paintings that were created as part of her yoga and meditation practice.

42 paintings will be on display in the Gallery at Inman Square, January 4 – March 4, 2013.  Opening reception with the artist is Friday, January 4, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
